Uh oh.....too late?
Well, once again, I forgot to bring my plant in before leaving for school. It stayed out over night on the night that it dipped down into 'chilly' weather. Since then, I've added some dirt to the plant, brought it back into the warmth of the classroom, and gave it a bit more sun throughout the day. Since the chilly overnighter--I've noticed the leaves have started to curl just a bit.
Do you think my plant has had it? Will it continue to wilt, or did I get to it in time for it to rejuvenate? I sure hope I did. Wouldn't it be great if our bean plants produced some beans for us to eat? Yum!

Day 8 (November 1, 2011
So, I had to transplant my bean plant this morning. I never noticed before, but the "bean" turned into some sort of leaf. I wonder if the bean will transform into a permanent leaf of sorts, or if it will simply fall off?
I know that beans are traditionally a summer crop, but I would love to see how long we can get our bean plants to last. Will they produce beans? Will they get sufficient sunlight, now that our hemisphere is pointing away from the sun? (Making it winter)
What do you think will happen?

Day 3 (October 27)
Today is our party day! But before we start into the festivities, we were able to look at our plants some. Here are some of the comments that were made. Enjoy!

"Today we looked at our plants and I noticed that my paper towel is still wet and I think it won't grow because nothing has happened yet" MFAM
"Today we have looked at our plants and I noticed that my bean is sticking to my paper towel and there is fuzz on one, but not on the other." PHAM

Day 1 of Bean activity
Today we planted 2 beans in a cup. We used the brown paper towels with a little bit of water on them as our dirt. We looked at them through the microscope and hypothesized about the future of our beans. We will see if the beans really can grow in nothing but a paper towel.
Stay tuned!
